New garden design in Wimbledon

We were fortunate enough to be appointed to design a new front and rear garden for an existing client in Wimbledon. Our client wanted a contemporary garden with clean lines and generous planting. An existing magnolia tree is the focal point in the middle of the garden so the challenge was to design the garden around this magnificent tree, creating a journey between the two main areas - the lower seating terrace and upper dining area which gets the evening sun. The two zone are connected by two paths; one a formal paved path with steps up to the upper level, and a secondary informal gravel pathway that weaves between hedging to the dining terrace.

The front garden design includes three new specimen trees which provide privacy, each under-planted with waves of evergreen ‘cloud’ planting connecting the planting beds and a gravel area for car parking. We will be going on site later this year to landscape this garden.

Below you can see the hand drawing of the design as well as the CGI renders - these images give an idea of how both the front and rear gardens will look on completion.
